I am a plant ecologist with a interest in how humans interact with the natural world. I became interested in studying plants as an undergraduate at Williams College while working with Dr. Joan Edwards on a project comparing pollination strategies of Artic disjunct species on a small island off Isle Royale National Park. I focused on invasive plants and invasion ecology as a masters student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and while working for a plant conservation non-profit. Before transitioning to wetland ecology in the Lawrence Lab at UConn, I worked in Cooperative (experiential) Education for many years. I enjoyed working with students to facilitate transformational professional experiences. Now I am excited to be asking questions about the plants and nutrients in ongoing transformational restoration projects on retired cranberry bogs.
When I am not working in wetlands, I enjoy spending time with my family, swimming, and playing outdoors. |
